Federal Court Case "Ashcroft T/A Fit & Ready For Work vs Macquarie Equipment Rentals"
18 December 2009.
Macquarie's application to have the case dismissed was refused. We are going forward with one test case and the trial is set down for commencement in the first week of May 2010. Matters that are before the Local Court adjourned until the 19 January 2010. This was what we wanted to happen.
Telstra
Telstra have advised that an email was sent to all their sales executives with details of the scam and links to the ACCC's website and this website. An internal electronic mail to all Telstra Business staff also contained an item of the scam. Telstra are hoping to have an item on the scam in the next edition of "Business Insights" that is sent to all its business customers.
Media Interviews
A Current Affair will be running a story to air in the next few days and hope to do follow up stories. Will advise when we have a date. The ABC Stateline have entered the trial date in their diary and will be following the Federal Court proceedings. The Sydney Morning Herald ran an article on the 15 December
